P.E Wood
Pahutakawa Salad Servers
Details
Hand-shaped wooden salad servers crafted on Great Barrier Island, New Zealand by Peter Edmonds. Made mostly from fallen native branches and reclaimed timber, each piece is both functional and quietly considered—a true essential for the kitchen.
Peter Edmonds has spent over four decades on Great Barrier Island (Aotea), working with wood in a way that reflects the landscape around him. The island’s forests, light, and steady rhythms guide his approach and remain a constant source of clarity in his practice.
Though he also paints, his focus is on wooden forms— carved artworks, bowls, kitchenware, shaped with restraint and purpose. Appreciated by both locals and travellers, his work demonstrates a deep respect for material, place, and the quiet integrity of objects made by hand.
