Image by Lucy Edmonds. This piece examines the tension between masculinity and female strength. The necklace was discovered in New York, inspired by a woman Lucy saw on the subway wearing earrings with the same statement. She searched for them, but instead found the necklace.
The contrast resonates with her life: many of her closest relationships since childhood have been with men—her father and longtime friend—yet the necklace’s rebellious message stands in opposition to the trust and intimacy she has experienced in these relationships, creating a striking tension between statement and reality.Printed on Ilford Smooth Cotton Rag 310gsm paper. Prints are unframed and sent in poster tubes.
